You don’t have to drive far to find some of the best burgers you’ll ever have. Akron, OH is overflowing with great options. We’ve narrowed down some of the best local options you’ll want to try as soon as you can.
1. Iron Grill
This is a great restaurant for kicking back and relaxing with your friends or family for an evening out. It’s also a great place to find an amazing burger. One of their best options is the Rodeo Burger with American cheese, house-made barbecue sauce, fried onion straws, and bacon. It’s served on a brioche bun. Another one to try is the Southwest Chipotle Burger with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, pico, avocado, and SW chipotle sauce.
Iron Grill is located at 2215 E Waterloo Rd #408. While the two burgers we recommended really stand out, it’s hard to go wrong with an order at Iron Grill.
2. Bob’s Hamburger
This place is such a staple in Akron that they now have two locations. The original location that’s been around since 1931 is located at 1351 East Ave. The new location, often called Bob’s Hamburger 2, is located inside Ray’s Pub at 801 W Market St. Vegetarians will want to note that they do sell a Beyond burger here.
Part of their mission statement here is that they are “no-nonsense”, so they like to keep things straightforward. You can order a single hamburger for $5.50, double for $8.50, or triple for $11.50. For a meal with some heat, try the Fired Up Hamburger with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, Tabasco, mayo, and lettuce.
3. Main Street Saloon
This is a great burger place with a friendly staff. They are known for their 1/2-pound jumbo burgers. You’ll want to check out the Big Nic if you’re really hungry. This burger is topped with bacon, egg, cheese, and The Works.
These burgers are located at 1481 S Main St. Fortunately, your 2023 Buick Encore GX has a rearview camera that makes parking really easy. Navigating the downtown parking lot will be a breeze, no matter how busy the restaurant gets.
4. Larry’s
This is a family-friendly restaurant with great good and solid burgers. Vegetarians will find a veggie burger with a Morningstar patty on the menu. If you’re a meat eater looking for something unique, check out the Smokey Burger. This one comes with bacon, cheddar, onion rings, and barbecue sauce.
Larry’s is located at 1964 W Market St. The portions are generous here so make sure you arrive ready to eat a large meal.
