It also has two bed lengths (the 6.8-foot Standard and the 8.1-foot Long) and three cab configurations (the two-door Regular, the four-door Double, and the four-door Crew). Its six-position MultiPro tailgate provides versatility. The truck comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a locking tailgate, and cargo area lighting. Upper trims include 18-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, 120-volt power outlets in the bed, and a power-sliding rear window.
Engine (Power)
Engine options found under the hood of the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 offer plenty of power, but one uses gasoline and the other diesel. The standard 6.6-liter gasoline-powered engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission to send power to the wheels. The 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-9 engine cranks out 445 horsepower and a massive 910 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. All models come standard with rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.
Performance
The 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 has a maximum payload capacity of 3,979 pounds and a hauling capacity of 18,500 pounds. Several of the upper trims include a trailering camera system that provides you with several camera views to assist with navigating the trailer. If you want a model that gives you the best off-road experience, consider the truck's AT4 trim. This trim includes hill descent control, underbody skid plates, and off-road suspension tuning.
Interior
Depending on the cab option, the 2023 Sierra 2500 can fit two to six occupants. Even with the smaller cab option, the truck provides plenty of headroom and legroom for all travelers. The driver also benefits from a high seating position, giving a commanding view of the road. The lower trims include vinyl seats, while upper ones have leather ones. For infotainment, the truck comes standard with a 7-inch touch-screen display, but an 8-inch display is available on upper trims. Both options include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, but the upper trims offer the connectivity wirelessly. The truck also includes a six-speaker stereo system, but the Denali trim has a seven-speaker setup as well as navigation.
Safety Features
While the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 comes standard with six airbags and a rearview camera, the upper trims are the ones to consider if you want plenty of driver-assistance features.
